The CeraVe bye-bye Acne line is Legendary

I had heard about CeraVe as an excellent drugstore brand for a while and wanted to get my hands on some products. As it turns out, I came across a giveaway ad on Cerave's Instagram, and all I had to do to enter was give them my email and do a little survey regarding my skin type (they were giving away all of their different lines)
Once I received the package in the mail, I was so excited to rip into the products and use them, but at the time, I was just finishing up Luminance and was about to start using Fleur and Bee (which I talked about in my last blog post if you want to go check that out) So it was quite a while before I actually started using CeraVe. I did post my first impressions on my IG and TikTok as soon as I received the products in the mail. These products were quite large and lasted me over 6 months. Although, as you already know, I only use these products once a day, usually nightly, since I have noticed my skin is better when I do skincare once a day rather than strip my skin by washing twice. Especially since these products have active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide and retinol, it would be better to use those at night versus the day when the sun hitting your skin can make it quite sensitive.
Since these were new ingredients for my skin, I slowly started incorporating them into my routine. The first time I introduced these products into my nightly skincare routine was when I was taking a break from Fleur and Bee after I decided it was causing my skin to be irritated, and immediately, I was impressed. The products were extremely easy to use with easy-to-follow directions, and I woke up the next morning with considerably clearer skin. I used it once more towards the end of that week before deciding to fully incorporate it into my routine the week after.
Let's start with the Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser: Its main active ingredient, Benzoyl Peroxide at 4%, is quite potent, so it was a good thing I slowly incorporated it into my routine; otherwise, my skin would have experienced a lot of dryness and redness (which it still mildly did at first but eventually my skin adjusted). My main concerns (which Curology did a great job of completely removing) were the texture on my skin and the whiteheads on my nose. The cleanser doesn't really foam; it's more like a cream texture, but it is definitely spreadable. I think some of the best cleansers I've used in this entire skincare exploration journey have been the ones that don't foam because they're more focused on their active ingredients rather than the whole foaming experience that soaps have. I used to use it with my Nuskin cleansing tool for the most part, and that definitely helped it to spread evenly on my skin and gave me a nice little skin massage and gentle exfoliation to elevate the experience. This one was a 10/10.
The Resurfacing Retinol Serum: The retinol in this serum was definitely a new ingredient for me since, obviously, I am pretty young and haven't experienced visible aging like wrinkles or sunspots. I wouldn't have bought it yet, but because they gave it to me, I was ready to use it. I learned then that retinol is good for anti-aging but also for acne, scars and marks, skin elasticity, and all of that, so I was happy to use it. The serum had a light scent; I don't know if it was an added fragrance or just the scent of the product itself. Its consistency was gel-like and so nice; it rubbed in very well and didn't cause me any issues. I didn't use it every day; I used it once or twice a week just because I was just getting started, and I didn't want to pair the benzoyl peroxide and the retinol like all these intense ingredients together all at once. But I used it a couple times a week, and eventually, I gave it to one of my friends who was suffering from acne because I thought it was such a good serum and might help her. I considered this one a 9/10.
Let's move on to the AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 30: Absolute trash. I would not recommend this sunscreen to anybody in my life ever. It is a mineral sunscreen, and frankly, I have used many sunscreens in my life, many of them being mineral sunscreens with extreme white casts. However, I would still use those over this one because at least those rub in, and you can put some makeup over it to cover it or just keep rubbing it in until it gets better. And at least those have a smooth consistency, and there are way better sunscreens at this same price point. First of all, this did not rub in at all. I would have to literally drag it across my face and make sure I didn't rub it into circular motions; otherwise, it would pretty much curdle and bunch up and start peeling off my face, and even if I did manage to somehow get it into my skin by dragging it along my face eventually once I touch my face throughout the day it would pretty much all peel off, and it was so bad. Here's a look:
Finally, the PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion: This night cream was beautifully sweet and simple. Its formula was nice and smooth, and its feel was lightweight. Even my youngest brother uses this moisturizer nightly now. He's gone through multiple bottles already. The benzoyl peroxide cleanser was too drying for his skin, but he loves the moisturizer because it's mild enough not to irritate his already acne-prone skin. Just like the rest of these products, this contains powerful ingredients, including niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides, which are great for targeting and helping the skin recover. I'll give this one an 8/10.
