What works for me may not work for you and vice versa, but I write these reviews to give you a detailed perspective before you go around spending your money everywhere. This skincare trio by Edenbelle Beauty is a milk-based product line consisting of lactic acid formulas to provide gentle chemical exfoliation and brightening of the skin. I found this skincare line in an ad when this company had just recently launched these products and/or packaging and was looking for people to try it out and complete a survey. The total value of these three products was $125, but all I had to do was pay $7 shipping. $7 for an entire full-size skincare trio is an absolute steal! In fact, I was skeptical because there's no way it will be good if I'm getting it for this cheap. But I'll be honest; this was one of my best skin care experiences. It was so much fun to use these products, and th...

Luminance Skincare Review

DISCLAIMER: everyone's skin is different. My opinions are just that; they are not cold, hard facts. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa, but I write these reviews to give you a detailed perspective before you go around spending your money everywhere.

All-natural skincare has been all the rage out there recently. Still, it's not easy to find skincare brands that can be trusted to have science-backed formulas that work and are worth the money rather than being over-glorified DIYs that can either be useless in protecting the skin or are often harmful. Any dermatologist will tell you to stay away from companies claiming to have all-natural formulas because when we turn to skincare, we are trying to fight what nature is doing to our skin. So, I set out to find what I thought could be the "correct" version of all-natural. A formula that avoids carcinogens, harmful synthetic compounds, and harsh chemicals. Now, I emphasize the word powerful because, technically, everything is a chemical compound, right?

In my journey to find a trustworthy natural but science-based brand, I came across Luminance Skincare. Luminance is relatively new to the industry, but it is proliferating. I stumbled upon their account through an Instagram ad offering their trio sample kit for only 3.99 shipping! So, of course, I had to try it out. I was trying out Curology at the time, so I started using this a few weeks later once I was done with Curology's trial. and here's what I think about it:

At this point, my skin was in fantastic condition from using Curology, as you guys know from my last blog post. I opened up the Delicate Cleanser, and I saw that it had a spray dispenser. I shook the bottle to mix up the separated ingredients and started with about three sprays. Three wasn't enough, so I increased it with a spray every time I used it. Six sprays were the perfect amount to foam and successfully clean my face. It had a very light citrus smell as if it had a little bit of lemon essential oil. I usually don't prefer fragrances and essential oils, but because this was a wash-off treatment, I didn't mind. I also knew it had no ingredients like citric acid or citronella since the company claimed to be free of all synthetic components. Anyway, that little bit of lemon essential oil just helped to wake me up and refresh my skin. When I washed it off, my skin didn't feel dry, but it still felt pretty clean.

I moved on to the Rose Water Toner. What I loved about this toner was that it was made of organic roses; the only ingredient was 100% rose water. I had been searching for a wartime er that wasn't mixed with fragrance and other pointless ingredients, and this was the first one I had found. It smelled beautiful, and it sprayed on really nicely. I found that three to four squirts were just enough. The instructions said to let it dry slightly before applying the moisturizer.

I moved on to the Deep Hydration Moisturizer. What I loved about the moisturizer was that it didn't have any fragrance and had a nice texture. I didn't enjoy how long it took to absorb into the skin when I applied it. If I didn't let my rose water toner dry entirely on my face, it took ages to rub that moisturizer in. But after allowing the moisturizer to sit on my skin for maybe 5-10 minutes, I got that same addictingly smooth feeling that I always got after Curology's rich moisturizer.

The sample lasted me about 3 weeks, and the most significant difference I noticed was that I felt the need to wash my face in the morning because I thought the cleanser wasn't enough of a deep clean to keep it for the night. You know, I only wash my face at night and use a toner in the morning before applying sunscreen. I also noticed that although my skin was really smooth and I didn't have any pimples or acne, I did have to go in with my facial extraction tool around my t-zone around once or twice a week, which I mentioned in my previous blog post that I didn't have to do for 2 months while using Curology.

There wasn't enough rose water compared to the cleanser and the moisturizer. Three or four spritzes were enough for my skin, but it made the toner run out much faster than the moisturizer and the cleaner. Also, using six spritzes of the cleanser made for a perfect wash, but I still wanted something that gave me an even deeper clean. So, although I really loved the trio, it wasn't enough for my skin, and I would have loved to use one of their exfoliating cleansers.

One of the most revolutionary things I saw on their website was their organic metal-free sunscreen oil. It had no synthetic ingredients; the active ingredient was red raspberry seed oil. It isn't FDA-approved yet, but it works according to hundreds of customers who claim they have yet to get sunburned after using it.

I read on Luminance's blog that if you're using the right ingredients in your routine, the ridges of your fingers should be enough to exfoliate your skin rather than an abrasive exfoliator, which I totally agree with. Although with Curology, the trio was enough for me, the trio for luminance wasn't enough. It was lovely, and I loved how it made my skin feel, but I often had to go in with exfoliators, facial extraction tools, and maybe an extra face mask step, which I didn't have to do with Curology. But I'm not comparing Luminance to Curology because that was a custom formula, so obviously, it worked exactly the way I wanted it to. But I saw that they had an Enzyme Exfoliating Mask on their website, and I wish they provided a slight sample-sized exfoliant in their sample set that they sell instead of just the cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.

Overall, I wanted more, but I would probably repurchase the products. Maybe not the whole line simultaneously, but one of their products here and there. I plan on buying their exfoliator soon to try it out. I loved the toner and will definitely repurchase it, but I'm still determining if I'll be repurchasing the cleanser and the moisturizer, not because they weren't good, but because there are better ones for my skin. But for people with sensitive skin who are just starting out and don't know what to get, trying out at least the luminance sample trio or even the starter set would be a good idea. The total full-sized trio is only about $70, an excellent deal for a brand with such great ingredients that many companies can go above $100 for a simple trio. I recommend trying it out for those who are beginners or have sensitive skin.
